Brad Treliving Make Major Statement on Joseph Woll's Future
The Maple Leafs are looking to have another season at the top of their division and to do that they'll need to be able to rely on a solid goaltending unit.
On a recent press conference, Treliving praised his goalkeeping arsenal, and gave a huge statement on
Joseph Woll's future.

Treliving revealed that he thinks Woll is ready to play his part in the Leafs' success by getting a more important role in a near future.
"Brad Treliving on the goaltending, particular of Joseph Woll: I think he's ready to grab a hold of a job here."
Woll had a great start in the NHL that impressed many people. He had a .932 SV% and a 2.16 GAA when he was called up from the Marlies.
It's evident that he's looking for a job in the NHL full-time.
The Leafs' Goaltending Unit
The Leafs' goalie situation is intriguing, because they have three goaltenders that could have a strong impact next season. Joseph Woll,
Ilya Samsonov and Martin Jones will compete to get the number one spot.
They also have
Matt Murray on the LTIR, and if he's healthy, could be used if other goalies are injured.
Now, let's not forget Samsonov. Treliving has high hopes for him too. He had great stats last season with a 2.33 GAA and a .919 SV%.
"Treliving is confident in his goaltending, believes that there is room for growth in Ilya Samsonov and thinks Joseph Woll is ready to grab an NHL job. #Leafs"
Enter Martin Jones, the third contender. With 444 NHL games under his belt, Jones' recent performance with the Seattle Kraken saw him in action for 48 games and got 27 wins.
"The Maple Leafs have signed goaltender Martin Jones to a one-year, $875K deal."
Jones isn't a stranger to pressure. Remember his time with the San Jose Sharks? Four consecutive seasons of 30+ victories, coupled with intense game time of 60+ games each season. And who can forget his pivotal role in driving the Sharks to the Stanley Cup Final in 2016, even though they fell short against the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games?
Treliving has many good options on the table, and it's great to see Woll being considered for a top role next season.
