Jones, coming off a shutout, was recalled from the Marlies ealier this month, when Joseph Woll sustained an injury.
With Ilya Samsonov struggling lately, sending Jones, who's red hot, is a logical choice, but it still surprising to chose your AHL goalie for two straight games instead of your number one.
If Jones can continue to perform like he did in his first three starts, we could very well see the Leafs trade Samsonov, and trust the Woll/Jones tandem for the playoffs.
