The St. Louis Blues finally gave into what many fans had assumed was coming for years, and kicked off their rebuild at this year's trade deadline. Top stars such as Ryan O'Reilly and Vladimir Taresenko were traded to new organizations, and the Blues started stockpiling draft picks for the future.
According to trusted NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the St. Louis Blues are trying to move one of their many serviceable, yet expensive, defensemen. The only defenseman off limits according to Seravalli's report is veteran Torey Krug.
The Blues have a plethora of defensemen that could be used as trade chips, giving them a ton of trade assets to dangle around the market right now.

Among the names that St. Louis could be looking to move, Justin Faulk, Colton Parayko, Nick Leddy, and Marco Scandella are all realistic candidates. Faulk and Parayko would probably fetch the largest returns, thanks to their immense offensive and defensive capabilities respectively. That being said, their cap hits aren't small, and it might make more sense for St. Louis to try and trade someone with a more digestible salary.
If that is indeed their plan, Marco Scandella would be the perfect option. He's a serviceable 2nd/3rd pairing defenseman who is responsible defensively and adds a physical presence to your blue line.
Scandella could probably fetch St. Louis a draft pick or two, and maybe even a roster player depending on the market. St. Louis should absolutely be working the phones right now because the trade potential here is massive.
