John Tortorella has built up a reputation as being one of the toughest coaches in the NHL in the modern day, and now a personal history with a player may result in that player not playing in the NHL again.
Ryan Johansen waived to the AHL after landing with Torts' Flyers
At the trade deadline, 905 game veteran Ryan Johansen was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers, and as he was seen as a cap dump in a move from the Colorado Avalanche, no one batted an eye when he was promptly placed on waivers.

It reportedly didn't sit well with the organization that Johansen shares an agent with Cutter Gauthier, who has caused the Flyers many a headache this season, but beyond that, a personal, complicated history with Tortorella led to the veteran being placed on waivers.
Now, Johansen is down in the AHL with the Flyers affiliate the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and unless something drastic changes in the Flyers needs or in the two parties personal relationship, we may see a lengthy NHL career officially come to an end.
