Devils Defenseman Loses His Cool, Violently Slashes Flyers' Star

But earlier in the game, during the third period, another Devils defenseman,
Brendan Smith, lost his cool and gave a violent slash to one of the Flyers' top players:
Travis Konecny.
Konecny gave him a cross-check on the back, and Smith retaliated.
Player Safety Will Review the Incident, Hearing Later Today
Player Safety announced a hearing for Smith that will go down later today.
"New Jersey's Brendan Smith will have a hearing Friday for slashing Philadelphia's Travis Konecny."
Retaliation is one thing, but a violent, two-handed slash isn't welcome in the NHL.
