After Michael McCarron delivered a pretty crazy hit on Vancouver Goaltender Casey Desmith, the NHL has come down with a ruling on the matter.

It definitely doesn't happen often, and usually ends up in more fireworks than what happened the other night, but it is always a sight when a player lays a hit on the opposing team's goaltender. That is what Michael McCarron did last night in the Nashville Predators versus Vancouver Canucks series.

DeSmith looks no worse for the wear.
Now, the NHL has come down with a ruling on the hit, fining McCarron $2000 for the hit.
Nashville's Michael McCarron has been fined $2,000 for goalie interference on Vancouver's Casey DeSmith.
This, though better than nothing, is surprising, as it could have easily been a suspendable hit considering how the League likely wants to protect its goaltenders. Now, it will be up to the players to do so themselves.
