Should the Edmonton Oilers complete their incredible comeback from a 0-3 deficit in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers on Monday night, a local pizza company has something special in store for the fans.
Boston Pizza has promised to give away 30,000 free pizzas to the people of Edmonton and will even change its name to Edmonton Pizza.
Boston Pizza's chairman and owner Jim Treliving has pledged to rename the chain to "Edmonton Pizza" if the Oilers win the Stanley Cup.
«Canada's hockey heart beats strong, and if the Oilers clinch the cup, we'll celebrate by adopting their name,» stated Treliving.
Despite the name, Boston Pizza has no ties to the city of Boston. They plan to distribute 30,000 pizzas—totaling 240,000 slices—to the people of Alberta if the Oilers win their fourth straight game against the Panthers.
