The Edmonton Oilers can't buy a win at the moment, but with plenty of time to turn their season around, they could be in the running for a big free agent to help that cause.
Even with
Connor McDavid back in the lineup, the Oilers have struggled for wins, with just a 1-5-1 record in their lats seven games, with goaltending and defensive play a major question mark.

The team reportedly tried to acquire a star goaltender in the summer, and now, that's where they'll likely be focused, but don't think that they're going to neglect the forward group.
According to a report,
Patrick Kane, who has spent the summer rehabbing from a hip surgery, and now he's nearing a return and narrowing down his list, which the Oilers are reportedly a prominent name on.
There's plenty of competition to land the former Blackhawks and Rangers star, but if he could find his way into the Oilers top-six, they'd be even more fun to watch and would become a genuine threat in the West.
