Veteran NHL Goalie Looks To Make Return To Hockey In Russian Minor Leagues
Anton Khudobin has had a respectable NHL career but looks to continue his professional hockey career with a surprising team.
Khudobin To Play In Russian AHL Equivalent
Anton Khudobin is a 14-year NHL Veteran whose NHL career looks to be over but that won't stop him from ending his hockey career.
Khudobin's agent announced that he will be playing for Lada of the VHL which is the equivalent to the Russian AHL.
"When Anton decided to play in the KHL, goalkeepers were signed in almost all teams. Now we will negotiate with Lada. We agreed with the sports director of the club Rafik Yakubov to return to this issue next week." - Khudobin's agent Alexander Chernykh
This means that all of the KHL teams had their goalies sorted out and Khudobin was forced to play in a lower league so he could continue. If Khudobin plays well, there is a possibility he makes the jump to the KHL next season but that will be difficult considering the stage of Khudobins career and his age.
