BREAKING: Elliotte Friedman Drops a Massive Update on Connor Bedard's Return Date

The Chicago Blackhawks may have their 18 year-old phenom back as soon as Thursday night'.

According to NHL insider Elliote Friedman, the Blackhawks are checking in with doctors to see if Connor Bedard can hit the ice tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the United Center.

Head coach Luke Richardson recently mentioned that Bedard could be back within the next week from a fractured jaw he suffered back in January. Despite the injury setback, Bedard's been keeping busy, skating and joining in on some non-contact drills during practice.


The reigning first overall pick has been lighting it up this season, leading all rookies with an impressive 33 points en route to what's expected to be a Calder Trophy victory. He broke his jaw on an open ice hit from Brendan Smith of the New Jersey Devils. Since that point, like he's hit the road to recovery hard. He hit the ice just 10 days after the injury with a full-face shield and a non-contact jersey.

Now, it appears we'll see him back on an NHL ice tonight.
