The Calgary Flames 2022-23 season didn't go as planned, and now with several key players to hit free agency next summer, they're expected to be very active in the trade market over the next few weeks and months.
Another top defenceman on the move?
After moving
Tyler Toffoli, the Flames have decisions to make on several other players, and with the recent deal for
Erik Karlsson in Pittsburgh,
Noah Hanifin is the top name on the trade market.
Must read on Daily Hockey Dose
Following another fantastic season, upping his point total to 86 over the past two years, it's clear Hanifin is capable of being the best defenceman on many teams around the league, and at 26-years of age, there's plenty of interest.
According to recent reports, the Buffalo Sabres, Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings are all interested in his services, and with his desire to play in an American market, all three of those fit the bill.
With just one-year remaining on his deal with a $4.95 cap hit, all of these teams could easily acquire him with an extension in place, so for now, keep an eye on Calgary, as another big move could be coming.
