The incident occurred after 6'3" Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin made a huge reverse hit on 5'9" Bruins forward Brad Marchand.

Multiple players from both teams paired up although no one really fought. The referees noted this by handing out lots of roughing minor penalties to players on both teams. Oddly though, neither Marchand or Dahlin took a penalty on the play despite their involvement in the scrum.
