Beloved Bruins Center Officially Announces Retirement Due To Injuries

Long-time Bruins Center David Krejci officially announced his retirement from hockey today.

Injuries End Krejci's Career Prematurely

The 37-year-old center is one of the best Czech players of his generation. The fan favorite forward retired from the NHL following last season but was hoping to represent his home country of Czechia at the 2024 IIHF World Hockey Championship. However, it seems as though that will not be happening after all.
"David Krejci has determined that his lower body injuries will not allow him to play for Czechia at their home World Championship in 2024. This means he is officially retiring from ice hockey at the age of 37."

Bruins fans took to social media to thank Krejci for the years he gave to the organization and their fans.

Krejci's Illustrious Career Comes To An End

Krejci played his entire NHL career with the Bruins. In 1032 games for the team, he put up 786 points including 231 goals. He was also part of the 2011 Stanley Cup Champions team.
He also has a prolific international career, having represented Czechia on the world stage no less than 11 times throughout his career, including three Olympic games and four world cups. He has four bronze medals from international tournament play.
It is safe to say that Krejci has earned his retirement. Hopefuly his injuries do not affect his quality of life going forward after hockey.
