Former 6th Overall Pick Renounces Millions After Refusing to Play for Detroit
The Detroit Red Wings and their promising young player, Filip Zadina, have agreed to terminate their contract.
Back in 2018, the Red Wings took a chance on Zadina. However, things haven't gone as well as expected for him in the NHL.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli broke the news today that both the Red Wings and Zadina are close to agreeing on ending their contract.

Zadina is taking a calculated risk by giving up over $4 million in the hopes of reaching a deal with another team.
Zadina is now going to be one of the most in-demand free agents available. It's an unexpected turn of events, but it could be a game-changer for the ambitious young player.
As for the Red Wings, they're rumored to be the top contender to acquire
Alex DeBrincat, which could make a very interesting replacement for Zadina.
