The Colorado Avalanche look to potentially be without one of their top Forwards in what is being called a "significant" injury.

Avs Appear To Lose Forward For Extended Period

The Colorado Avalanche have reportedly been dealt major injury news, as Sportsnet Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman reports the Avs will likely lose F Artturi Lehkonen for an extended period of time.




Lehkonen was injured in Colorado's game against the Seattle Kraken where Lehkonen was knocked into the boards by Kraken D Jamie Oleksiak, appearing to hit his head. Lehkonen was taken to a hospital after the hit, and is expected to miss "weeks" with a neck injury according to Head Coach Jared Bednar.



Friedman added that the Avalanche could look for an acquisition as help to replace Lehkonen on offense. Lehkonen has 3 Goals and 8 Points in 12 Games for Colorado this season, who have an 11-5-0 record.
